Every quarter I will be sharing the top content you will need to be talking about, all back with strategy and data! And today is all about Q2!
Couples are now in planning mode. That engagement honeymoon bliss is over, and now it’s time to plan, plan, plan! So this is the time to focus on what they are searching for: planners, venues, and photographers.
For the photographer in DC and the planner in Savannah, since Q2 is a busier wedding season for both regions, they will both be focused on this planning + sharing real weddings and shoots mode.
If you are a stationery artist, your Q2 might be focused on promoting wedding showers, and engagement parties, and save the dates.
I love using Google Trends to get a visual on search terms. This is a free online tool by Google that lets you type in search term (aka a Keyword)
For the keywords “wedding planning” and “how to plan a wedding”: This trends on Google at the beginning of January, and continues to increase until July.
For “wedding planner” it takes a similar interest journey, spiking in mid-April. This makes sense since most couples will get engaged in November – February, and start to really plan in the spring.
Venue Coordinator Vs. Wedding Planner: As a planner, you know how important your role is. But many couples still think a venue coordinator and a wedding planner are the same thing. Educate your client on why you are different and how you offer so much more.
Tented Weddings vs. Wedding Venues. Many of our clients work with couples who dream of tented weddings… but the couples don’t realize the amount of work (and additional vendors and costs) associated with it.
Micro Wedding Vs. Elopement: A lot of couples are still planning smaller weddings. Based on what you offer, what does this entail? As a planner, does this mean a cap of guests (50 guests for a micro wedding, 10 for an elopement?). A few other trending searches as of March 2023:
How To Create a Guest List: Who should they include? Who gets a +1?
Why Engagement Sessions Are Important (and when to book it!): Not all couples want an engagement session – but as a photographer, they are a great add-on to your packages! Write a post about why this is so important for your couples.
How To Pick Your Ceremony Time: This is great for photographers and planners! There are quite a few factors to consider when picking a ceremony time, from the timeline, to the available daylight and even the venue.
Ceremony Traditions For Your Wedding Day: You can highlight each of the items with images from real weddings. If you are a planner, you can explain how you helped plan this tradition for your couple. Some examples are: Writing your own vows, a champagne toast, planting a tree, hand-binding, or other family traditions.
How to Get the Most From Your Tasting: The tasting isn’t just an important step in the process; it is also fun! This is great for planners, venues, and caterers! (And even cake artists – talk about cake tastings!)
How Many Hours of Photography Coverage Do You Need?: Break down your packages, and explain why you need a minimum number of hours, and when to add on more hours. Ex: 6-hour package: Best for smaller weddings + elopements. 8-hour package: best for average-sized weddings. 10 hours: beset for larger weddings or a wedding with multiple locations.
One of the most frequent questions I get around blogging is how often you should do it. The key to blogging is consistency. The goal is to keep your website up-to-date and filled with fresh content, every single month! We suggest you blog at least twice per month – every other week. We suggest doing 1-3 educational posts per quarter since these are great to capture longer keywords!
