Blue Water Weddings

Blue Water Weddings was born in 2012 out of timing, serendipity, and a deep love for the sea. Founder Julia built her business in the Florida Keys, one of the most logistically demanding wedding markets in the country, where island time is real, vendors are legacy family businesses with their own rhythms, and every celebration has to be carefully and strategically pieced together. That expertise, knowing how to make the complex feel effortless, is exactly what sets her apart.

After more than a decade of growth, Julia was running a team and ready for her next chapter: expanding thoughtfully beyond the Keys into South Florida, Palm Beach, and the Lowcountry of South Carolina, while staying true to the coastal, elevated aesthetic her brand was built on.

Julia came to us having already tried to solve the problem herself: updating her Google listing, attempting to blog, and experimenting with social media. 

Her website hadn't been refreshed in years, her Pinterest and TikTok had gone untouched, making it even more critical that her website work harder for her.

Moving platforms is one of the most SEO-dangerous moments in a website's life. Most designers get it wrong. We built a process specifically to get it right.

Underneath the visual identity, we built an SEO and content strategy designed to do something genuinely difficult: establish Blue Water's presence in a brand new geographic market while protecting and rebuilding the rankings they'd worked years to earn in the Keys. Every decision — from the platform migration to the new South Carolina landing page to the individual wedding portfolio pages — was made with that dual goal in mind.

We started by auditing what was working, what wasn't, and where the biggest opportunities were hiding.

For Julia, that meant two major strategic moves: defining the right keywords to help her compete in a second market entirely, and mapping out a full content strategy so the website wouldn't just launch well,  it would keep building momentum long after.

We also created a dedicated South Carolina landing page, written and structured specifically to help Blue Water get found by luxury coastal couples searching in a market where they were brand new.

Brand Design

A brand that has been around since 2012 deserved a visual identity as elevated as the weddings they were producing.

The creative direction was clear from the start: coastal sophistication without the clichés. No predictable nautical palette, no generic beach imagery.

Instead, we drew from the actual textures and tones of the environments Blue Water works in: the sage of coastal marshland, the dusty blue of open water at dusk, the warm sand underfoot at a Keys ceremony. A brand that feels like the destination, not a postcard of it.

A Custom Website

We moved Blue Water from FloThemes to Showit, and we treated the migration as seriously as the design.

Before a single page went live, we mapped the full URL structure, identified every link that needed a redirect, audited her existing blog archive, and made sure nothing was left broken. We built a new sitemap and keyword strategy from the ground up, optimized every image, structured the site for maximum Google visibility, and submitted it for re-indexing on Julia's behalf — because most designers leave that step to the client, and most clients have no idea what it means.

The best part?
Blue Water Weddings didn't just get a new website — they got a second market. The new South Carolina landing page means Julia's team is now visible to an entirely new pool of luxury coastal couples, in a region where they had zero Google presence just months ago.
